Our Team

Our team consists of 11 part-time employees.  We each became involved in the coop as members first and believe strongly in the mission of the FDC.

Julie Pottier-Brown - Manager

Julie is our liason with the farmers.  She is responsible for ordering what shows up at the depot each week, as well as finding new farms/dairies to participate in the FDC. Julie has a passion for our mission.  Julie has been practicing  yoga for over 10 years. As a Registered Yoga Teacher, Julie loves to share the gift of yoga with others  Julie is also a volunteer Leader with La Leche League International,  and drives a truck for the Salem Pantry.  Though she does all this, Julie is happiest being mother to her two active boys.

Tamara Butts Sullivan - Office Manager/Marblehead Depot Coordinator

Tamara has been the Marblehead Depot Coordinator for the better part of a decade.  Tamara also manages customer accounts, budget tracking, and accounts payable and receivable.  In addition to a passion for farm fresh produce, Tamara enjoys modern dance, yoga, and her two beautiful daughters.

Heather Collis-Puro- Salem Depot Coordinator, Tuesdays and part-time Thursdays

Heather has lived in Lynn for 11 years with her husband Dan and daughter Arden, who was practically raised at the depot. She has been a member of the FDC for 10 years, and was a depot coordinator in Salem for 7 years. During the school year, she works as a Handwork Teacher at Cape Ann Waldorf School in Beverly Farms. Before becoming a parent, she worked for 10 years as an organizer for the Fund for Public Interest Research, which advocates for strong environmental, good government and consumer reforms. She really enjoys the community aspect of the Coop, as well as the growth of its mission.

Dana Pratt - Salem Depot Coordinator, part-time Thursdays

Dana is one of the Salem Depot Coordinators usually working on Thursdays. Dana is a relative newcomer to Massachussets, having moved last year from midcoast Maine with her family. At first, she thought moving to Massachussets would mean giving up on all the local veggies, meat, and dairy she and her family had enjoyed in Maine, but she is thrilled to have found a cooperative community of individuals who care about the food they eat and are creating their own system to support local and organic agriculture. Dana is a former organic farm apprentice and high school teacher. When not working at the Salem depot, Dana is at home raising her two young children.

Michele Fjelde Burke, Melrose Depot Coordinator, Tuesdays

Michele believes good food brings everyone together, and feels strongly about supporting local independent businesses, so she's looking forward to working at the Melrose depot this year. She's been working in the bookselling and publishing business in Boston for around twenty years, and moved to Melrose six years ago. She spends her free time with her husband Terence and their three kids, cooking, working on their old house, and getting to the Cape as much as possible.

Jacqueline Bastoni - Melrose Depot Coordinator, Thursdays

Jacqueline (aka Jacq) oversees the distribution of produce at our Melrose location. Jacqueline has been an avid supporter of local agriculture since her days picking strawberries for a farm in her hometown of Webster, NY. Jacqueline enjoys cooking with fresh ingredients and practicing Pilates. She and her husband just purchased their first house in Melrose last year and are excited to be a part the FDC community.

Jeanne O'Brien Coffey - Newsletter Editor

Jeanne is an accomplished freelance writer with nearly two decades experience and a keen interest in protecting (and eating!) local and artisanal foods, while keeping up with the latest research on threats to the food supply. She lives in Nahant with husband Brendan and daughters Lila and Phoebe.

Tina Gross - Community Outreach Coordinator

Tina has a passion for community cooperatives and how they create opportunities for meeting fun people and eating great food. This passion began at a very early age when Tina begged to be allowed to help with the upstate NY co-op her mother started in the late 70s, and continues today as she takes on the newly created position of Community Outreach Coordinator. By day Tina is a scientist working on the clean-up of contaminated rivers and harbors. She moved to the North Shore five years ago. Tina spends her free time reading, volunteering at a local animal shelter, discussing politics, and traveling with her partner Diane.

Dan Burgess - Eastern Route Driver, Thursday

Dan drives the truck each Thursday to pick up fresh produce from eastern farms and deliver it to the depots.  He also helps set up the depot in Salem.  Dan is interested in ecology, people, and good food.  During the rest of the week, Dan is a designer and craftsperson who works in the furniture industry and when inspired, also makes paintings, sculpture and photography.  Dan and his wife Pam are long time residents of Peabody.

Stephen Fowler - "Western Route" Driver

Steve drives a truck to western MA each week to gather fresh produce from multiple farms. He grew up in Western NY where road side farm stands were common (and he misses them). Steve enjoys local and farm fresh foods whenever possible. He is a photographer who spends his free time working in his garden or out in his small hand made boat. Steve and his wife Molly just recently purchased their first home in Marblehead.

Bill Brown - Eastern Route Driver - Tuesday

Bill stepped in as the Tuesday eastern route driver in 2009 as a favor to his manager-wife.  Bill manages several properties, most recently "updating" the bathroom to look more like it may have 100 years ago.  He loves to camp, canoe and play with his boys.
