Melrose Thursday Depot Coordinator. Appoximately 2:30 - 7:30 on Tuesday plus 1.5 hours administration. Depot Coordinators are responsible for running the distribution on pickup days. This involves setting up, unloading the truck, organizing to goods and managing the flow of produce throughtout the day, managing an assistant coordinator and volunteers, managing special order distribution and breaking down. Candidates must have their own computers/printer, be competent in excel, have excellent communication, organization and customer service skills. There is a significant amount of lifting involved in unloading and moving produce around throughout the day (50 pounds of potatoes, boxes of squash, bushels of corn). Multitasking is common. Assistant Depot Coordinators. Needed for Salem Thursday (Sept - Dec only). Assistant Coords help the Depot Coordinator set up the depot (tents, tables, etc.) and work the first hour or so the depot is open. In Melrose, this is a three hour shift approximately 2 - 5. Candidates need to be able to take direction from the Coordinator, have the ability to lift 50#, and be able to interface with members in a pleasant, helpful manner. Closers: Closers come for the last hour of the depot and help with breakdown, approximately 6:15 - 7:15 each Tuesday and Thursday. Heavy lifting, darkness and weather are part of the gig.
